Having started from our parent establishment ‘Restaurant Indonesia’ in Napier, we decided bring our authentic taste and unique vibes to the Wellington region. We wanted to introduce this coffee loving city to the taste of Indonesian Coffee and Asian Fusion Wellington deserved, and so born Kedai Seroja.

Kedai Seroja aims to give you a taste of Indonesia in Tempoe Doloe (The Good Ol’ Days). Serving our most beloved Street Food’s from all corners of Indonesia’s archipelago that have been in our hearts since we were still known as The Dutch Indies. Our grandmother’s mother has passed down these recipes for us to indulge you in a culinary time travel like no other!

Vivi Evita & Riza Ambadar | Mum & Dad

Mum and dad are truly the mum & dad of this business.

In 2018 they took on an Indonesian restaurant that has been running since 1983 in Napier, Hawkes Bay – Restaurant Indonesia. With their passion, comes the reward, and the initial idea to expand to Wellington.

Their role within Kedai Seroja is to oversee all financial aspects of the Wellington & Napier Operations.

Savira Ambadar | Restaurant Manager

Vira has always had a passion for coffee and more specifically in coffee making, she was the one to bring and keep the Café aspect alive.

With her degree in Hospitality and Tourism, Savira oversees all day-to-day operations in Kedai Seroja.

Rafly Ambadar | Marketing & Business Development Manager

Rafly has a background in the Film Industry with a degree in Production Management.

With his unique background, Rafly has brought a new take to this business, and is responsible for all the new changes in branding, website, and menu.

Richard Nixon | Head Chef

Richard graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts and Business, Richard has honed his skills through several restaurants in Wellington since 2017.

Currently with Kedai Seroja as the Head Chef, he is incorporating techniques learnt from his past experiences to create awesome Asian fusion food Wellington loves during the day and authentic Indonesian at night.

Richards philosophy in cooking is “comfort food is good food”.

Candice Sihite | Commis / Baker

Candice is the Commis Chef Kedai Seroja and the mastermind behind all of our loved cabinet foods.

Born in Jakarta and raised in Auckland, Candice grew up spending her time learning and cooking alongside family and friends, developing a love for food and the community it creates.
